The Ahafo Regional directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has begun investigations into an alleged sexual incident involving a security officer at Mim Senior High School and a female student.

The development has sparked concern within the Mim community, following allegations that the security officer approached the student and asked her to engage in sexual activity with him.

The allegations reportedly triggered an angry reaction from some youth in the community, who were said to have assaulted the security officer following the incident.

Authorities of the GES have since initiated investigations to establish what transpired between the security officer and the student and to determine whether any misconduct occurred.

The Asunafo North Municipal Director of the GES, Samuel Jatong Larri, confirmed that the service is handling the matter and has already interviewed both the security officer and the female student as part of the inquiry.

According to him, the student was interviewed in the presence of her parents to ensure that her account of the incident was properly documented and that appropriate safeguards were maintained during the process.

Mr Larri said that the investigations are intended to provide the GES with a clear understanding of the circumstances surrounding the allegation before any decision is taken.
