Former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has publicly recognised her brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, as the leader of the Kantanka family and the Kristo Asafo Church.

In a statement, Ms Safo said her decision is motivated by a desire to promote family unity, reconciliation and the preservation of the legacy of their late father, Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo.

She said the family must move beyond differences, misunderstandings and grievances that may have emerged following the death of their father and focus on preserving the values and institutions he established.

“The time has come for us, as a family, to transcend whatever differences, misunderstandings or grievances that may have characterised the immediate aftermath of the demise of our dear dad and consign them to history,” she said.

Ms Safo expressed her affection and respect for Israel Kwadwo Safo and said she is prepared to work with him in the interest of the family and the Kristo Asafo Church.

“I have immense love and respect for my brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, and in the spirit of honouring our father’s wishes, I publicly acknowledge and accept him as the Leader of the Kantanka Family and the Kristo Asafo Church,” she stated.

She added that Israel Kwadwo Safo has her full support and that she is willing to collaborate with him to advance their father’s vision and legacy.

According to Ms Safo, the legacy of Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo should not be viewed as belonging to any single individual but as a collective responsibility of his children.

“Our father’s legacy transcends any one individual. It is a collective inheritance and a profound responsibility entrusted to us, as his children,” she said.

She urged the siblings to rise above their differences and work together to protect the institutions and ideals their father established.

Ms Safo also appealed to members of the Kristo Asafo Church, the wider Kantanka family and individuals associated with Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo’s work to respect the unity of the family and support what she described as a new chapter of reconciliation.

She called for reconciliation, fraternity and a shared sense of purpose among those connected to the family and the church.

The former MP extended her goodwill and best wishes to Israel Kwadwo Safo and her other siblings, expressing hope that the renewed effort at reconciliation would bring healing, unity and strength to the family.

She said the ultimate objective should be to honour and advance the legacy of their late father for the benefit of future generations.
