In a major boost to digital inclusion, engineers from the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) have arrived in the Jomoro Municipality to restore and extend telecommunication services to 11 underserved communities.
The project, initiated under the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, aims to bridge the connectivity gap and provide residents with reliable access to mobile and data services.
The technical team has already begun operations in Adusuazo, with the following communities scheduled for immediate rollout: Ebonloa, Twenen, Old Ankasa, Elonyi, Ellenda, New Kabenlasuazo, Nuba, Mpasem, Jaway, andTwearkor II.
In a statement released by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Benedict Boadi, the intervention was credited to the persistent advocacy of the Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Hon. Dorcas Affo-Toffey.
”This intervention has been made possible through the relentless efforts and continuous engagement of Hon. Dorcas Affo-Toffey, who has remained committed to addressing the network challenges affecting several communities,” the statement read.
According to the MCE, the technical team is working on an accelerated schedule. Residents are expected to experience significant improvements or full restoration of services by the close of this week.
The Municipal Assembly expressed its gratitude to the MP for her dedication to improving communication infrastructure.
Mr. Boadi further assured residents in other parts of the municipality that the Assembly remains committed to ensuring every corner of Jomoro is eventually connected to the national grid.
