The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially confirmed that the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will be held from June 19 to July 18, 2027.
In a historic move for regional integration, the tournament will be jointly hosted by three nations: Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
Known as the “Pamoja Bid,” derived from the Swahili word for “together,” this edition marks the first time the tournament has featured three co-hosts and its first return to the CECAFA region since Ethiopia hosted in 1976.
The Pamoja vision goes beyond the pitch; by sharing the hosting duties, the three East African neighbors aim to showcase a unified front to the world.

Key venues expected to host the 24-team spectacle include Talanta Sports Stadium, Moi International Sports Centre (Kasarani), and Nyayo Stadium in Kenya.
In Uganda, matches will be held at Mandela National Stadium (Namboole), Hoima City Stadium, and Akii Bua Stadium.
Tanzania will feature the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Samia Suluhu Hassan Stadium (Arusha), and Amaan Stadium (Zanzibar).
Beyond the goals and cheers, the tournament is set to be a massive boost for regional tourism.
In a major win for traveling fans, the host nations are discussing a special-purpose “Pamoja Visa.”
Uganda has already taken the lead, announcing a three-month visa waiver for visitors starting in June 2027.
Fans can look forward to a unique “football safari,” transitioning from the vibrant streets of Nairobi to the lush hills of Kampala, and ending with the coastal breezes of Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar.
