Officers from the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) have reportedly raided the Kumasi residence of former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, as part of ongoing investigations into alleged financial misconduct and asset sales.
The operation is said to have taken place on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Mr Jumah’s private residence at Atonsu in the Ashanti Region.
According to multiple reports, EOCO operatives carried out the raid in Mr Jumah’s absence.
During the exercise, officials reportedly seized several items, including laptops and documents believed to be relevant to the investigation.
While details of the probe remain unclear, sources indicate that the action forms part of broader efforts by EOCO to gather evidence in relation to alleged financial irregularities linked to Mr Jumah’s tenure at GIHOC.
As of now, EOCO has not issued an official statement on the raid, and it remains uncertain whether the former GIHOC boss has been invited for questioning or will face formal charges.
Mr Jumah, a prominent political figure and former appointee under the previous administration, has yet to publicly respond to the development.
