The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has lauded the Executive Chairman of KGL Group, Alex Apau Dadey, for his contributions to Ghana’s socio-economic progress.
Speaking during the ‘World-Meets-In-Ghana’ Executive Dinner Ball on April 24, 2026, held at the Manhyia Palace as part of celebrations marking his 27th anniversary on the Golden Stool, the Asantehene described KGL as a standout indigenous enterprise making meaningful impact across multiple sectors.
He pointed to the company’s investments in healthcare, including the construction of a mental health facility, as well as its significant tax contributions—amounting to GH¢153 million this year—as evidence of its national relevance.
The King also acknowledged the firm’s continued support for corporate and social initiatives.
Otumfuo noted that his association with KGL Group has been a source of pride, highlighting the company’s strong leadership, innovation, and capacity to compete globally.
He further praised Mr. Dadey’s leadership, describing it as a reflection of the potential of Ghanaian entrepreneurship to drive national development.
According to him, the success of indigenous businesses remains critical to the country’s growth trajectory.
In the same remarks, the Asantehene also recognised renowned business leader Sir Sam Jonah and other Ghanaian enterprises contributing to industrial and economic advancement.
He encouraged citizens to take inspiration from such examples to help propel the nation forward.
The event attracted several prominent personalities, including former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, and other distinguished guests from Ghana and beyond.
Among the dignitaries were the Olu of Warri Kingdom, Ogiame Atuwatse III, and his wife, Olori Atuwatse III.
Also in attendance were Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, Bank of Ghana Governor Johnson Asiamah, politician Alan Kyerematen, Council of State member Betty Mould-Iddrisu, Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga, and Ashanti Regional Minister Frank Amoakohene.
