Management of Medimafo Herbal Hospital has strongly denied allegations circulating on social media that its facility was used for a political meeting involving senior members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and some engineers from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
In a press release issued by the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Adu Gyamfi, the claims were described as “completely false, misleading, and intended to create unnecessary political controversy” around the health facility.
The viral video allegedly claimed that former NPP running mate, Matthew Opoku Prempeh, together with some leading party members, held a meeting at the hospital in Kumasi to strategise with ECG engineers on how to use power outages, popularly known as “dumsor”, to sabotage the government of President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
However, Dr. Gyamfi categorically denied that any such meeting took place at the facility.
“Medimafo Herbal Hospital is a professional healthcare facility dedicated solely to providing quality healthcare services to the people of Ghana and does not serve as a venue for political meetings or partisan activities,” the statement said.
The hospital management further urged the public to disregard the allegations and avoid sharing unverified information capable of damaging the institution’s reputation.
According to the statement, the hospital remains committed to professionalism, integrity, neutrality and quality healthcare delivery.
The release was signed by Dr. Adu Gyamfi, popularly known as Dr. Time Daso, CEO of Medimafo Herbal Hospital.
