The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the National Harmonised Prospectus for students who will be enrolling in Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS) for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The prospectus is intended to provide prospective students and their parents or guardians with clear guidance on the essential items required for admission, ahead of the release of the 2026/2027 school placements.
In a statement issued by the GES, the Service said the prospectus applies to both boarding and day students and is expected to guide families as they prepare for the commencement of the new academic year.
The GES urged parents and students to carefully review the requirements outlined in the harmonised prospectus and make the necessary preparations before students report to their respective schools.
The release is expected to help prospective SHS and SHTS students understand the items they will need to have available when they are admitted, while also promoting uniformity in the admission process across schools nationwide.
The GES further directed schools and other relevant stakeholders to adhere to the requirements contained in the National Harmonised Prospectus.
According to the Service, compliance with the harmonised requirements will help ensure a smooth, consistent and standardised admission process for newly admitted students across the country.
The prospectus comes ahead of the release of the school placements, which will determine the schools to which qualified students will be admitted for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The GES said the initiative is aimed at ensuring that students who gain admission are adequately prepared before beginning their secondary education.
Parents and students have therefore been encouraged to familiarise themselves with the prospectus and begin making the necessary arrangements to avoid delays or difficulties during the admission and reporting process.
The GES is expected to provide further information on the placement process and other arrangements as preparations for the 2026/2027 academic year progress.
