The Western North Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Michael Aidoo, popularly known as Big Aidoo, has paid the filing fees for all current constituency executives across the region’s nine constituencies ahead of the party’s upcoming internal elections.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, the gesture is intended to recognise and appreciate the dedication, commitment and sacrifices of the constituency executives during the 2024 general elections.
The Regional Chairman said the executives played a significant role in the NDC’s electoral performance in the Western North Region, particularly the party’s 8 out of 9 parliamentary seats and what he described as 100 per cent support for President John Dramani Mahama across the nine constituencies.
Mr Aidoo expressed his appreciation for what he described as the “exceptional dedication, commitment and hard work” of the constituency executives, noting that their contribution to the party’s electoral success had not gone unnoticed.
He said his decision to cover their filing fees is therefore a demonstration of gratitude for their loyalty and selfless service to the NDC.
The Regional Chairman said he considered it a privilege to support the executives as they prepare to participate in the party’s upcoming internal elections.
He further assured all constituency chairpersons that the funds required to cover the filing fees would be released one clear week before the commencement of the nomination filing process.
The arrangement, he said, is intended to ensure that the executives would be able to complete the nomination process without facing financial difficulties.
Mr Aidoo also expressed confidence that delegates would take into consideration the work and sacrifices of the current constituency executives when making their choices in the upcoming elections.
He urged the executives to remain united and committed to strengthening the NDC at the grassroots level, stressing the importance of unity and dedication to the party’s continued growth and electoral success.
The Regional Chairman encouraged the constituency executives to regard the payment of their filing fees as a token of his appreciation for their contribution to the party.
He wished all the executives well in the upcoming internal elections and urged them to continue working in the interest of the NDC.
“Chairman Big Aidoo urges all Constituency Executives to remain united and committed to the growth and success of the Party,” the statement said.
