Aspiring Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Gomoa West Constituency in the Central Region, Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart, has supported more than 600 students entering Senior High School (SHS) with essential educational materials.

The gesture, according to Captain Smart, is intended to ease the financial burden on parents as they prepare their children and wards for the next stage of their education.

The beneficiaries, who have gained admission to various Senior High Schools, received mattresses, trunks and chop boxes to assist them as they begin their secondary education.

Captain Smart said the initiative forms part of his commitment to supporting young people and helping families within the constituency overcome some of the financial challenges associated with sending their children to school.

He stressed the importance of extending a helping hand to others whenever one is in a position to do so, saying such acts of support could inspire others to contribute to the development and wellbeing of their communities.

He also encouraged the beneficiaries to take their studies seriously, remain disciplined and work hard to make their parents and the people of Gomoa West proud.

The Tufohemaa of Gomoa Dawurapong, Nana Aba Nkumaah, also urged the students to maintain good character as they transition into Senior High School.

She advised them to combine academic excellence with discipline and responsible behaviour, stressing that their conduct would be an important part of their journey towards achieving their future aspirations.

Nana Aba Nkumaah further called on parents to remain actively involved in the education and upbringing of their wards even after they leave home for school.

She encouraged parents to visit their children regularly, monitor their behaviour and provide the necessary counselling, guidance and support to help them navigate the challenges of secondary education.saw

Some parents of the beneficiaries who spoke to the media expressed their appreciation to Captain Smart for the support.

They described the donation as timely, particularly at a period when many families are faced with several financial obligations associated with sending their children to Senior High School.

The parents said the provision of mattresses, trunks and chop boxes would help reduce some of the expenses they would otherwise have had to shoulder as their wards prepared to report to school.

The beneficiaries are expected to proceed to their respective Senior High Schools as they begin a new phase of their academic journey.
