The Western Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Comrade Richard Ernest Kirk Mensah, has donated GH¢20,000 towards the construction of the party’s new Regional Office in the Western Region.
The contribution forms part of ongoing efforts by NDC executives, members, sympathisers and other supporters to mobilise resources for the completion of the project.
Presenting the cash donation, Comrade Kirk Mensah described his contribution as his “widow’s mite” towards the construction of the facility.
He said supporting projects that strengthen the party’s organisational structures is a collective responsibility of members and urged others to contribute according to their means.
“This is my widow’s mite towards the construction of our new Regional Office. I believe that as members of the party, we all have a responsibility to contribute in whatever way we can to projects that will strengthen our structures and enhance our work,” he said.
According to him, the establishment of a modern and permanent regional office would provide the party with the needed infrastructure to improve its administrative and organisational activities in the region.
He therefore encouraged NDC members, sympathisers and other well-meaning individuals to support the project to ensure its successful completion.
The GH¢20,000 donation was received on behalf of the project by the Western Regional Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Mr Hafiz Alasco, who also serves as the Project Engineer and Coordinator.
Mr Alasco expressed appreciation to Comrade Kirk Mensah for the financial contribution and his commitment to the project.
He said contributions from party executives, members and sympathisers remained important to efforts to complete the facility and provide the Western Regional Secretariat with a permanent base for its operations.
When completed, the new Regional Office is expected to serve as a central facility for the NDC’s administrative, organisational and political activities in the Western Region.
The project has so far attracted support from various individuals and groups within the party, as fundraising efforts continue to mobilise the resources required for its completion.
The initiative is aimed at providing the party with a dedicated and permanent regional facility to support its operations and activities.
