The Member of Parliament (MP) for Abuakwa North, Nana Ampaw Kwame Addo Frempong, has expressed appreciation to the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, for considering his appeal for special support for St. Paul’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) School at Kukurantumi in the Eastern Region.
The MP’s appreciation follows a proposed allocation of GH¢100 million from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) to support the production of beds for senior high schools across the country.
According to Mr Addo Frempong, the proposed intervention presents an opportunity to address shortages of essential furniture in senior high schools while strengthening the capacity of St. Paul’s TVET School to contribute to national development through technical skills training and local production.
In a statement dated October 16, 2026, the MP said he is grateful to the Education Minister for giving consideration to his appeal for the school to receive the necessary attention.
“On behalf of the good people of Abuakwa North Constituency, I wish to express my sincere appreciation to the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, for heeding to my plea for special attention to be given to St. Paul’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) School at Kukurantumi,” he stated.
He said the proposed GETFund support offers renewed hope to the school community and residents of Abuakwa North, particularly as the country seeks to address infrastructure and logistical challenges confronting educational institutions.
The MP noted that the proposed funding could provide an opportunity for St. Paul’s TVET School to apply its technical expertise to the production of beds needed by senior high schools nationwide.
He said such an intervention would not only help meet the furniture needs of schools but also strengthen the role of technical and vocational education in developing practical skills and supporting local production.
Technical and vocational education institutions are expected to equip students with practical competencies that can prepare them for employment, entrepreneurship and participation in industrial development.
Mr Addo Frempong’s statement therefore highlights the potential for collaboration between educational institutions and government agencies to address practical needs within the education sector while providing opportunities for skills development.
He commended Mr Iddrisu for his commitment to advancing technical and vocational education and expressed optimism that the proposed support would translate into tangible benefits for the school.
Beyond the proposed GH¢100 million GETFund allocation, the Abuakwa North MP has appealed to the Education Minister to fulfil an earlier pledge to support the construction of an ultra-modern assembly hall for St. Paul’s TVET School.
He said the facility would significantly improve the school’s infrastructure and provide a suitable venue for assemblies, school programmes and other important gatherings.
According to him, fulfilling the commitment would complement efforts to improve the school’s facilities and create a more conducive environment for teaching, learning and other institutional activities.
The MP expressed hope that the proposed support for bed production would be accompanied by further interventions to address the school’s infrastructure needs.
Mr Addo Frempong reaffirmed his readiness to work with the Ministry of Education to ensure that the proposed intervention and other commitments yield practical results for the school and its surrounding communities.
He said continued collaboration with the Ministry would be essential to ensuring that St. Paul’s TVET School receives the necessary support to fulfil its educational and technical training mandate.

The MP also expressed confidence that the interventions, if implemented, would benefit not only the school and the people of Abuakwa North but also the wider country through improved educational infrastructure and strengthened technical skills development.
The proposed GH¢100 million allocation is intended to support the production of beds for senior high schools across Ghana.
