The Member of Parliament for Tano North, Dr Gideon Boako, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving the livelihoods of cocoa farmers in the constituency through targeted interventions and the provision of essential farming equipment.

Dr Boako made the commitment after distributing motorised spraying machines to cocoa farmers in Tano North as part of efforts to reduce the physical burden associated with cocoa farming and improve productivity.

The intervention, according to the MP, is aimed at equipping farmers with practical tools that can make their work easier, more efficient and less labour-intensive.

He stressed that cocoa farmers play a critical role in Ghana’s agricultural economy and therefore deserve meaningful support to enable them to increase production while improving their incomes and living conditions.

“Cocoa farmers deserve better, and I am pleased to support them with tools to make their work easier and more productive,” Dr Boako said.

He explained that providing farmers with the necessary equipment was important to complement their efforts and help them overcome some of the challenges associated with cocoa production, particularly labour-intensive farming activities such as spraying.

The distribution of the motorised spraying machines is expected to assist beneficiaries in carrying out farm maintenance more efficiently and potentially enable them to cover larger areas within shorter periods.

Dr Boako further reaffirmed his determination to continue supporting farmers and other constituents through initiatives designed to address their practical needs and contribute to local development.

He expressed appreciation to the clergy, Muslim leaders, traditional authorities and members of the community for their participation and support for the initiative.

The Tano North MP said he remained committed to working with stakeholders in the constituency to identify areas where targeted interventions could make a tangible difference in the lives of residents.

He assured constituents that he would continue to pursue measures aimed at improving their living conditions, with particular attention to initiatives that support livelihoods and enhance economic opportunities.

The intervention forms part of Dr Boako’s broader commitment to supporting cocoa farmers in Tano North, where cocoa production remains an important source of livelihood for many households.
