One person has died and 14 others sustained injuries in a road crash on the Accra–Kumasi Highway near Paradise Restaurant at Bunso in the Eastern Region.
The accident occurred on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, and involved a MAN Diesel truck and a Toyota Hiace.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the crash happened after the MAN Diesel truck reportedly veered into the opposite lane while attempting to give way to a Toyota Vitz.
The manoeuvre resulted in a collision involving the truck and the Toyota Hiace, leaving several occupants injured and one person dead.
Firefighters from the Bunso Fire Station were promptly dispatched to the scene following reports of the crash. The rescue team worked to assist victims and recover personal belongings from the vehicles.
The firefighters also helped clear the accident scene and remove obstructions from the highway to facilitate the restoration of normal traffic flow.
The injured persons were rescued from the crash scene and are receiving medical attention, although details about their conditions were not immediately available.
The circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation as authorities work to establish the full sequence of events.
The incident was contained by personnel from the Bunso Fire Station, with the scene subsequently cleared to minimise disruption to motorists using the busy Accra–Kumasi Highway.
