50 aspirants battle for 11 NPP executive slots

A total of fifty aspirants picked their forms to contest eleven positions in the upcoming national executive elections of the largest opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

There are nine national executive positions, but in the national vice chairperson position in particular, the first three will be picked as first vice, second vice, and third vice chairpersons to bring the total national executive positions to 11.

As of the close of nomination day on Saturday, August 22, 2026, five aspirants, Paul Afoko, John Boadu, Boakye Agyarko, Sammy Crabbe and Bernard Antwi Boasiako, had picked forms for the national chairman position since the incumbent national chairman, Stephen Ayesu Ntim, is not seeking re-election due to health conditions.

For the General Secretary position, Eugene Boakye Antwi, Sylvester Tetteh and Charles Dwamena picked forms to contest the incumbent, Justin Kodua Frimpong, who is seeking a second term.

In the National Communications Director position, Dennis Miracles Aboagye is now in the race with Evans Kodo since the incumbent, Richard Ahiagbah, did not seek re-election.
