The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the online passport application service is temporarily unavailable due to a technical fault.

In a notice issued on August 25, 2026, the ministry said its passport application website, passport.mfa.gov.gh, is experiencing technical problems.

The statement said its technical team is working with the National Signals Bureau (NSB) to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

The ministry apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused by the outage.

It said it will provide an update once the problem has been resolved.

The Ministry therefore did not disclose the nature of the technical problem or indicate how long the website would remain unavailable.
