The National Communications Authority (NCA) has confirmed that mobile services on the MTN network which were disrupted have been fully restored, bringing a sigh of relief to residents and business owners in the Greater Accra Region.

The announcement, issued on Saturday, March 28, 2026, follows an earlier report of service instability that affected various parts of the capital and its surrounding areas.

According to the NCA, MTN Ghana has officially reported that the technical hitches have been resolved.

The regulator noted that all affected services including voice and data are now back to optimal performance levels.

”The Authority has since been informed by MTN Ghana that all affected services have now been fully restored,” the statement read.

While the immediate crisis has passed, the NCA emphasized that it isn’t taking its eyes off the ball just yet.

The regulatory body committed to the following:

Maintaining a close watch on the network’s performance.

Staying in constant communication with MTN Ghana to ensure the restoration remains stable.

Reaffirming its mandate to protect consumer interests and ensure high-quality communication services across the country.

The Authority also expressed its appreciation to the public for their patience during the downtime.

The National Communications Authority (NCA) is Ghana’s statutory body mandated to license and regulate electronic communication activities.

Established in 1996 and governed by the National Communications Authority Act, 2008 (Act 769), its mission is to ensure communication serves as a catalyst for national development.
