The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has announced Cabinet’s approval of a new electronic visa (e-Visa) policy aimed at simplifying travel into the country.
According to the Minister, the new e-Visa regime will apply to individuals traveling to Ghana for both business and tourism, marking a significant step toward enhancing the country’s appeal as a top destination in Africa.
He emphasized that the initiative reflects Ghana’s commitment to welcoming visitors from across the globe, particularly at a time when some destinations may appear less accommodating.
“When others make you feel unwelcome, Ghana says this is your home to invest and to enjoy the beauty of nature,” he stated.
The policy aligns with the broader vision outlined by President John Dramani Mahama during his inauguration, where he reaffirmed that “Ghana is open for business again.”
The government believes that leveraging digital solutions like the e-Visa system will position the country as a modern, accessible, and investor-friendly destination.
