What should have been a moment of divine celebration has turned into a desperate nightmare for Mr. Emmanuel Quansah and his family.
Following the unexpected birth of quadruplets at the Twifo Praso Government Hospital, the Wassa Attieku resident has admitted he is considering fleeing the facility, crushed by the weight of medical bills he cannot pay.
The couple’s journey to the hospital was already fraught with financial anxiety.
Early scans had prepared Emmanuel and his wife for triplets, a daunting prospect for a family already struggling to raise three older children.
However, the delivery room held a surprise that the couple was not financially equipped to handle four babies instead of three.
“The unexpected arrival of quadruplets has caught me off guard,” Emmanuel shared, visibly shaken.
“I am struggling to cope with the financial implications. We prepared for three, but four arrived.”

The mother underwent a Cesarean Section (C-Section) to deliver the babies safely, significantly increasing the bill.
All four newborns are currently in incubators, requiring specialized, round the clock care that adds to the daily cost.
With three children already at home, the couple now faces the reality of providing for seven children in total while living in a state of poverty.
The mother of the quadruplets, Naomi Quansah, echoed her husband’s desperation, noting that they were already “struggling to make ends meet” before this delivery.
The couple feels backed into a corner, with Emmanuel admitting that escaping the hospital may feel like his only “option” to avoid the debt he cannot clear.
