The Awutu Bereku Traditional Council has officially reaffirmed Naakye Dede Amoakwa I as the sole substantive Queen Mother of the Otuo Twidan Royal Family at Awutu Mankessim, bringing renewed clarity to longstanding chieftaincy concerns in the area.
Speaking in an interview with the media, Naakye Dede Amoakwa I maintained that she remains the legitimate occupant of the position and urged all stakeholders to respect the decision of the traditional authorities.
As part of efforts to ensure proper administration of stool lands, the Queen Mother has directed all individuals currently occupying Otuo Twidan royal stool lands in and around Awutu Mankessim to present their land documents for verification and regularisation of ownership.
She emphasized that the exercise is necessary to promote order and prevent disputes over land ownership within the traditional area.
Naakye Dede Amoakwa I also used the opportunity to call for peace and unity among residents, stressing that harmony is essential for the development of Awutu Mankessim and its surrounding communities.
In addition, she disclosed that the Awutu Traditional Council has barred one Kwame Abbey from holding himself out as the Abusuapanyin (family head) of the Otuo Twidan Royal Family, warning that such claims are not recognized by the appropriate authorities.
The Queen Mother further appealed to the Awutu Bawjiase District Police Command to take firm action against any individuals or groups whose actions may threaten peace and stability in the area.
She reiterated her commitment to working with all stakeholders to ensure unity, lawful administration, and development within the traditional jurisdiction.
