Four members of the same family have reportedly died in a devastating fire that swept through their residence at Apemanim Number Two in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region.

The incident occurred at about 2:00 a.m., when fire reportedly engulfed the family’s home while the occupants were asleep.

The victims have been identified as 23-year-old Kwesi, his wife, Maa Abena, and their two children—a four-year-old child and a three-week-old baby.

According to reports from the scene, the intensity of the fire made it difficult for residents and other eyewitnesses to rescue the family.

An eyewitness said attempts were made to put out the fire and save the occupants, but the efforts proved unsuccessful.

The eyewitness said the victims were eventually found burnt inside the building after the fire had been brought under control.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established.

The remains of the deceased have since been conveyed to a mortuary, while investigations are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the outbreak.

The incident has left residents of Apemanim Number Two shocked, as efforts continue to establish what triggered the fire and whether any factors contributed to the tragedy.
