Manhyia South Member of Parliament, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has expressed gratitude to Ghanaians, the leadership and members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and his supporters for standing by him amid his recent legal difficulties.

In a statement, the MP thanked individuals and groups who offered him prayers, messages of encouragement and other forms of solidarity during the period.

Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah specifically acknowledged the support of NPP Flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, his fellow Members of Parliament, the leadership of the party and its wider membership.

He also extended his appreciation to his family, friends and sympathisers, saying their support had been significant to him.

“Your calls, messages, presence and words of encouragement have meant a great deal to me. I remain strong, resolute and grateful,” he said.

The Manhyia South MP further expressed appreciation to Ghanaians who, according to him, had examined the circumstances surrounding his case and chosen to stand with him.

“I am equally grateful to the many Ghanaians who have seen through the Government’s propaganda and stood firmly with me,” he stated.

His comments come after the MP was granted GH¢10 million bail with two sureties by an Accra High Court on Saturday, October 3, 2026, following his plea of not guilty to criminal charges brought against him by the state.

The court proceedings have attracted considerable attention, with Parliament also expressing concern over his continued detention by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and Speaker Alban Bagbin calling for consideration of the circumstances surrounding the MP’s detention.

Despite the legal proceedings, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah said he remained resolute and appreciative of the support he had received.
