The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohonu, has promoted five police officers in recognition of their outstanding role in the arrest of suspects linked to the robbery attack at the GOIL Filling Station at Kwafokrom near Nsawam in the Eastern Region.
The promoted officers are Chief Inspector Eric Otoo, Chief Inspector Emmanuel Otu, General Sergeant Philip Amoah, Policewoman Constable Victoria Asiedu, and Policewoman Constable Rosemond A. Frimpong.
According to the Ghana Police Service, the officers were rewarded for their professionalism, bravery, dedication to duty, and swift response, which led to the successful arrest of two suspects connected to the robbery incident.
As part of the promotion package, Chief Inspectors Eric Otoo and Emmanuel Otu have been granted direct entry into the Police Academy, a move expected to further advance their careers within the service.
In addition, General Sergeant Philip Amoah, Policewoman Constable Victoria Asiedu, and Policewoman Constable Rosemond A. Frimpong have all been elevated to their next respective ranks in recognition of their exceptional service.
The recognition was announced by the IGP together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), who commended the officers for their courage, commitment, and dedication in the line of duty.
The Police Administration noted that the officers’ actions demonstrate the service’s commitment to professionalism and rapid response in tackling violent crimes across the country.
The Kwafokrom robbery attack had sparked fear among residents and commuters in the area, but the swift intervention by the police led to the arrest of the suspects, helping to restore calm and confidence within the community.
The IGP further assured the public that the Ghana Police Service remains resolute in its efforts to combat armed robbery and other violent crimes while ensuring the protection of lives and property nationwide.
The Police Service also encouraged officers across the country to remain committed to duty, stressing that hard work, dedication, and professionalism would continue to be recognised and rewarded.
