The campaign team of New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary aspirant Justin Kodua Frimpong has rejected allegations that he is preventing constituencies from arranging their own buses to transport delegates to Kumasi for the party’s upcoming National Delegates Conference and National Executive Elections.
In a statement dated September 29, 2026, the JFK Campaign Team described the allegations as “unfounded and incorrect,” stressing that Mr Kodua, as an aspirant, has no official role in organising or administering the elections.
The clarification follows claims allegedly circulated by some aspirants and their associates that Mr Kodua was denying constituencies the opportunity to independently arrange transportation for their delegates and was instead personally renting and providing buses for them.
According to the campaign, such claims misrepresent the role of the General Secretary aspirant and the arrangements for the upcoming party election.
“JFK is an aspirant in this election. He has no role in the organisation or administration of the upcoming National Delegates Conference or the National Executive Elections,” the statement said.
The campaign further explained that logistical arrangements for the conference and elections—including transportation, accommodation, feeding, accreditation and security—are not being handled by the Office of the General Secretary or the JFK Campaign Team.
The campaign team pointed to the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) as the body entrusted with planning and conducting the National Executive Elections.
It therefore urged delegates and party members to direct questions concerning official logistical arrangements to the appropriate election authorities rather than attributing such responsibilities to Mr Kodua or his campaign.
“Any official arrangements regarding the transportation of delegates and other conference logistics therefore fall within the mandate of the appropriate election authorities, not JFK or his campaign team,” the statement added.
The campaign called on delegates, party officers and the wider NPP membership to disregard what it described as inaccurate claims and to remain focused on the facts ahead of the October 3 election.
With the election only days away, the JFK Campaign Team also accused some of Mr Kodua’s opponents of resorting to what it described as baseless allegations and personal attacks.
The team said Mr Kodua would instead continue to focus on his record, the reforms undertaken under his leadership and his plans for strengthening the structures of the NPP.
The statement comes as aspirants intensify their engagements with delegates ahead of the party’s National Delegates Conference and National Executive Elections in Kumasi.
The campaign team expressed goodwill to the Elections Committee, fellow aspirants, delegates, party officers and supporters as the election approaches.
It also wished delegates travelling to Kumasi safe journeys and urged party members to approach the exercise in a manner that would preserve the unity of the party.
“May the outcome of this exercise strengthen our unity and position the NPP for the task ahead,” the statement maintained.
