The Madina Community Hospital and Specialist Services, has successfully conducted a comprehensive four-day health screening exercise for residents of Madina and surrounding areas.
Dubbed “The Health Project,” the initiative was organized in partnership with the Member of Parliament for Madina, Hon. Francis-Xavier Sosu, and the Madina Municipal Health Directorate.
The event drew a diverse crowd of residents seeking medical check-ups and professional counseling.
To ensure a high turnout, the MP’s office spearheaded publicity efforts, collaborating closely with local Assembly Members to create awareness within the community.
Beneficiaries had access to a wide array of diagnostic services and clinical examinations, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and Body Mass Index (BMI).
The people were also screened for blood sugar, urine protein, malaria, HIV, blood grouping, typhoid, and organ function tests (kidney, liver, and cholesterol).
Cervical cancer screening, breast exams, breast scans, abdominal/pelvic scans, and eye examinations were also conducted
On-site medical officers provided free consultations, dispensed medications, and referred severe cases for further treatment.
Dr. Dove Hutordzeso, CEO of Madina Community Hospital, emphasized that the exercise was part of the facility’s corporate social responsibility, having served the area since 2021.
”Early detection of abnormal conditions can significantly improve treatment outcomes. This facility is committed to preventive rather than purely curative health management,” Dr. Hutordzeso stated.
Recognizing the high prevalence of conditions such as hernia and fibroids among the participants, the hospital has extended its support beyond the initial four-day screening.
Patients requiring surgery for identified conditions will only pay 50% of the cost, which covers surgery, anesthesia, and admission.

Dr. Hutordzeso also announced that a similar large-scale health exercise is planned for later this year to ensure continued medical accessibility for the Madina community.
