The Ghana Police Service has launched investigations into a shooting incident involving former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, , at Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region.
According to a press release issued by the Accra Regional Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service on Sunday, June 21, 2026, the incident is currently being investigated by the Madina Divisional Police Command.
The statement, signed by Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, disclosed that preliminary investigations indicate that Hon. Adwoa Safo sustained a gunshot injury to her left ear while visiting her late father’s residence at Kwabenya on Sunday.
Police said the former legislator subsequently reported the incident to the Kwabenya Police Command and presented a vehicle with registration number GN 3482-24, which had visible gunshot damage.
The victim has since been issued a Police Medical Report Form and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the vehicle involved in the incident has been retained by the police for forensic examination as investigations continue.
The Police Service noted that efforts are underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding the shooting and identify all persons connected to the incident.
The shooting incident has generated widespread public concern, particularly given Hon. Adwoa Safo’s political profile and longstanding involvement in national politics.
