The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced a nationwide recruitment exercise for health professionals, scheduled to begin on April 16, 2026.
This follows the successful acquisition of financial clearance from the government and represents a major move to bolster the nation’s healthcare workforce.
Unlike previous centralized processes, this year’s rollout features a decentralized approach designed to address specific needs across the country.
To ensure a fair and efficient process, the Ministry has outlined several critical pillars for this year’s hiring cycle:
District-Level Hiring.
Recruitment will be conducted at the district level to ensure professionals are placed where verified vacancies exist, aiming to reduce staffing gaps in rural and underserved areas.
The Ministry emphasizes that the process will be strictly competitive.
Selection will be guided by an approved quota system covering various health cadres and graduation year groups.
Financial clearance for these positions is valid only until December 31, 2026.
Consequently, all recruitment activities including interviews and documentation must be finalized before the end of the year.
In a statement signed by Spokesperson Tony Goodman, the Ministry urged qualified professionals to begin immediate preparations.

Applicants are advised to ensure all professional credentials, certificates, and identification documents are ready for submission.
Vacancy announcements and specific application guidelines will be posted via official Ministry of Health platforms and District Health Administration channels.
Given the December 31 expiry of the financial clearance, applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as the portals open on April 16.
