The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the opening of nominations for its 2026 Constituency Executive Elections, with the process scheduled to commence on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

The announcement forms part of the party’s internal electoral timetable and paves the way for eligible members who intend to contest various constituency executive positions to formally enter the race.

In a statement issued by the NDC National Secretariat, the party urged all prospective aspirants to take advantage of the prescribed nomination period and comply fully with the requirements governing the elections.

According to the party, all payments relating to the picking of nomination forms must be made strictly through the designated online platform.

The Secretariat said aspirants, proposers, seconders and endorsers must all meet the party’s membership requirements before participating in the nomination process.

Among the key requirements is that all persons involved must be members in good standing of the NDC.

They must also have fully settled their party membership dues for the past four years.

Members with outstanding dues have been directed to clear their arrears through the party’s designated payment channels, including *920*25# or the NDC dues payment platform.

The party further indicated that payments for nomination forms would be processed through its online portal using mobile money across the various networks.

The NDC has also officially opened its campaign window for aspirants seeking to contest the party’s internal elections at the constituency, regional and national levels.

The Secretariat said the campaign activities are to be conducted strictly in accordance with the party’s rules, regulations and directives governing the internal electoral process.

Regional officers, constituency officers and ward coordinators have consequently been directed to allow aspirants to undertake their campaign activities within their respective jurisdictions.

The directive is intended to ensure that all eligible aspirants are given the opportunity to engage party members and present their programmes ahead of the elections.

However, the party has drawn a clear distinction between the internal executive elections and parliamentary ambitions.

The NDC said the campaign window does not apply to persons pursuing, or intending to pursue, parliamentary ambitions.

This includes sitting Members of Parliament and individuals who are currently considering or have publicly expressed an intention to contest future parliamentary elections.

Such persons, the party said, are prohibited from engaging in campaign activities under the current internal election campaign window.

The National Secretariat warned that any breach of the directive would be treated seriously and dealt with in accordance with the party’s rules and regulations.

The NDC urged all constituencies, aspirants and members to conduct themselves with discipline, decorum and respect for the party’s democratic values throughout the electoral process.

The party said the successful conduct of the elections would require the cooperation of all stakeholders and called on its structures and members to work towards ensuring a transparent, peaceful and orderly process.

The announcement marks a significant step towards the NDC’s 2026 internal elections, as prospective constituency executive aspirants prepare to formalise their bids and begin engaging delegates within the framework established by the party.
