The newly installed chief of Adamorobe in the Akuapem South Municipality, Nana Osahane Okakaben Okodom Kwaakwa Asiampong III, has unveiled an ambitious vision centred on community cohesion, youth empowerment, education, and infrastructure development.
Speaking during his installation ceremony, the chief outlined a number of key initiatives aimed at fostering peace, resolving longstanding disputes, and improving the socio-economic conditions of residents within the traditional area.

According to Nana Osahane Okakaben Okodom Kwaakwa Asiampong III, known in private life as Douglas Amoako Danquah, education remains one of the strongest tools for transforming society and securing the future of the youth.
He therefore pledged to establish localised scholarship schemes and educational sponsorship programmes to support brilliant but needy students in the community.
He explained that the scholarship initiative would not only ease the financial burden on parents but also encourage academic excellence among students pursuing secondary and tertiary education.
“Mentorship and educational advocacy will remain central to my vision because education is the surest way to prevent social vices and build a stronger and more united community,” he stated.

The chief also announced plans to reward outstanding academic performance while promoting mentorship programmes to inspire the younger generation towards responsible leadership and self-development.
In addition to education, Nana Osahane Okakaben Okodom Kwaakwa Asiampong III pledged to invest in skills training and youth employment initiatives. He said he would sponsor interested youth in artisanal and craftsmanship programmes to equip them with employable skills capable of improving their livelihoods.
As part of efforts to reduce unemployment and support economic activities in the area, the chief further promised to introduce a “work-and-pay” policy for commercial drivers.
“I am going to purchase vehicles for them under a work-and-pay arrangement so that those who are committed and honest in paying the agreed stipends can eventually own the vehicles themselves to improve their livelihoods,” he revealed.
The chief further pledged to establish a welfare fund to support the aged, particularly widows within the community, stressing the need to care for vulnerable groups in society.
On matters of peace and unity, Nana Osahane Okakaben Okodom Kwaakwa Asiampong III emphasised the importance of dialogue and peaceful coexistence among all factions and youth groups within the traditional area.

He called on members of the Kwaakwa Asiampong Asakyiri Family of Adamorobe under the Akuapem Adonten Apesemaka Stool to put aside their differences and work together towards the progress and development of the community.
The chief also used the occasion to appeal to government to urgently rehabilitate the deplorable 10-kilometre stretch connecting Adamorobe to Oyibi and Aburi.
According to him, the poor condition of the road, especially during the rainy season, continues to affect transportation, delay access to healthcare, and hinder farmers from transporting their produce to nearby markets.

“I will, in no time, petition the Roads Minister, Hon. Governs Agbodza, to consider constructing the road. If government fails to act, we have investors we can consult to find possible ways of supporting us to fix the road,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Nana Owusu Anaakwa II, Osiahene of Awherease, expressed joy over the successful installation of the chief, noting that Adamorobe had suffered developmental setbacks due to the absence of a substantive chief for the past 25 years.
He explained that the lack of traditional leadership had contributed to challenges including poor road networks, inadequate portable water supply, lack of healthcare facilities, and other social amenities.

Nana Owusu Anaakwa II expressed confidence in the leadership of Nana Osahane Okakaben Okodom Kwaakwa Asiampong III, describing him as a unifying figure capable of leading his people in peace and harmony while spearheading development initiatives in Adamorobe.
He also urged members of the Royal Kwaakwa Asiampong Asakyiri Family to rally behind the new chief and bury their differences in the interest of unity, development, and progress.
The colourful installation ceremony attracted several chiefs from the Akuapem Traditional Area, opinion leaders, youth groups, and hundreds of residents from Adamorobe and surrounding communities.
