The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has scheduled its National Delegates Conference for Saturday, September 19, 2026, during which delegates from across the country will elect new national officers to steer the affairs of the party.
The date was announced in a statement issued by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, and addressed to all stakeholders.
According to the statement, the decision to hold the conference on September 19 was taken by the National Executive Committee (NEC) and subsequently approved by the National Council at their respective meetings held on June 25, 2026.
The conference, to be held in accordance with Article 10(1) of the NPP Constitution, will bring together delegates to elect national executives and deliberate on other key matters affecting the party.
Ahead of the conference, the General Secretary has formally invited members and stakeholders to submit proposals for amendments to the party’s constitution.
The invitation, issued pursuant to Article 19(2) of the NPP Constitution, is intended to allow members to contribute ideas aimed at strengthening the party’s structures and governance framework before the delegates’ conference.
“All proposed amendments should be submitted to the Office of the General Secretary at the Party’s National Headquarters or transmitted electronically,” the statement said.
The party has set **Friday, July 17, 2026**, as the deadline for the submission of all constitutional amendment proposals.
The NPP encouraged members and stakeholders to actively participate in the constitutional review process by submitting recommendations that will enhance the party’s internal democratic processes and improve its organizational effectiveness.
“The Party encourages all members and stakeholders to take advantage of this constitutional review process by submitting proposals that will further strengthen the Party’s structures, enhance its internal democratic processes, and promote effective governance,” the statement noted.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to constitutionalism, internal democracy, and the rule of law as it prepares for the National Delegates Conference.
“As the Party prepares for its National Delegates Conference, it remains committed to constitutionalism, internal democracy, and the rule of law, ensuring adherence to the Party Constitution and its democratic traditions,” the statement added.
The September conference is expected to be a significant event in the NPP’s internal political calendar as the party elects a new national leadership to guide its affairs and prepare for future political activities.
