The New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Women’s Wing is set to embark on an advocacy exercise in Obuasi on Friday, November 6, to demand justice for at least 19 female students allegedly sexually abused by the interdicted headmaster of Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHTS).
The initiative, to be led by the party’s National Women’s Organiser, Mavis Hawa Koomson, will be held under the theme “Justice for Our Girls” as the NPP intensifies calls for accountability over the allegations that have sparked public outrage.
The planned exercise was announced by the NPP’s National Second Vice Chairman, Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, during a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Accra on Wednesday, November 4.
According to Nana B, the programme is intended to draw national attention to the allegations, demonstrate solidarity with the affected students and intensify demands for justice.
He said the party’s Women’s Wing is preparing a major programme in Obuasi to ensure that the concerns of the alleged victims remains at the centre of public discussion.
Beyond announcing the planned advocacy exercise, Nana B called on President John Dramani Mahama to publicly address the allegations against the interdicted headmaster, questioning the President’s silence on an issue he considers a matter of national concern.

He argued that allegations involving at least 19 female students are too serious to be overlooked, particularly given the courage the alleged victims had demonstrated in coming forward to report their experiences.
Describing the interdicted headmaster as a “monster” and an “animal”, the NPP executive said the reported incidents demands urgent attention and a strong response from the government.
He also appealed to the President from a parental perspective, noting that both men have daughters and should appreciate the gravity of allegations involving the sexual abuse of young girls.
“I have a daughter, and I know the President has a daughter as well. President Mahama, you have a lovely daughter. This monster is alleged to have defiled more than 19 ladies, and these ladies have been able to gather the courage to come forward and report,” he said.
Nana B maintained that the protection of schoolgirls against sexual exploitation should transcend partisan political considerations and receive the attention of all national leaders.
He insisted that President Mahama, as the leader of the country, has a responsibility to demonstrate concern about the allegations and the welfare of the affected students.
The planned NPP Women’s Wing exercise comes amid growing public concern over allegations of sexual abuse and defilement involving the interdicted headmaster of Obuasi Senior High Technical School, Zakaria Abdullah.
The headmaster is accused of sexually abusing at least 19 female students, with accounts from several alleged victims, including former students aged 18 and 19, detailing incidents that reportedly occurred at his official residence.
According to the accounts, some of the students had been assigned domestic chores at the headmaster’s residence, where the alleged abuse took place.
The allegations have raised serious questions about student protection, the abuse of authority and the responsibility of school administrators to provide safe learning environments.
The headmaster has denied the sexual harassment allegations but has reportedly acknowledged that female students performed domestic chores at his residence and that he had personal interactions with some of them. He also reportedly admitted giving one student GH¢100 for medical treatment.
The case has attracted significant public attention and prompted investigations and institutional action, including the headmaster’s interdiction.
As calls for accountability intensify, the NPP Women’s Wing says it will take its campaign to Obuasi on Friday under the banner of “Justice for Our Girls”, adding to pressure on the relevant authorities to ensure a thorough investigation and justice for the alleged victims.
