One person has died and another has been hospitalised following an accident involving a cargo truck and an Okada motorcycle at Budumburam on the Kasoa-Winneba Highway.
The incident occurred when the motorcycle, carrying a rider and a passenger, was travelling towards Kasoa, while the cargo vehicle, with registration number GN 4199-22, was heading in the opposite direction towards Cape Coast.

Residents who witnessed the incident reportedly intercepted the driver of the cargo vehicle shortly after the crash and handed him over to the police.
The driver has since been arrested to assist with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The police are expected to establish the exact cause of the crash and determine whether reckless driving or any other factors contributed to the incident.
The accident has once again raised concerns about road safety along the busy Kasoa-Winneba Highway, where motorists, commercial vehicles and motorcycles frequently share the road.
Authorities are expected to conduct further investigations as part of efforts to establish accountability and prevent similar crashes.
