The Ghana Police Service has restored calm in Akyem Oda following a violent confrontation involving a group of young men at the New Station area.
According to a press release issued by the Eastern South Regional Command, the incident captured in a viral video showed individuals wielding cutlasses and attacking each other in broad daylight.
Police say they swiftly responded to the scene upon receiving intelligence about the clash, successfully bringing the situation under control.
During follow-up operations, officers traced two of the suspects to medical facilities where they were receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the fight.
One of them, 30-year-old George Okyere, was found at the Oda Jubilee Hospital with a deep cut to his forehead and a severed finger.
Another suspect, Paul Pascalele, was located at the Akyem Oda Government Hospital with a serious cut to his right hand.
Police have since arrested a third suspect, Evans Adayele, from his hideout to assist with ongoing investigations.
Authorities say efforts are underway to apprehend additional individuals believed to be connected to the incident.
The Police Command has assured residents that security in the area has been reinforced and urged the public to remain calm while investigations continue.
