Former Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Chief Executive and New Patriotic Party (NPP) First Vice Chairmanship candidate, Sam Pyne, and members of his campaign team have escaped unhurt after their vehicle was involved in an accident in the Upper West Region.
The incident occurred near Hain, between Jirapa and Tumu, while the team was travelling in the area.
According to information gathered by 1960news.com, the vehicle was negotiating a sharp bend when the driver reportedly lost control.
The vehicle subsequently skidded off the road and ended up in a wooded area, raising concerns for the safety of the occupants.
However, all members of the team, including Mr Pyne, are said to have emerged from the incident without injuries.
The situation was brought under control after NPP regional executives arrived at the scene and assisted in moving the vehicle from the wooded area back onto the main road.
There were no immediate reports of serious injuries or fatalities following the incident.
Mr Pyne, who previously served as KMA Chief Executive, is currently campaigning for the position of First Vice Chairman of the NPP as the party prepares for its internal elections.
The former KMA boss has been touring various parts of the country as part of his campaign activities and engagements with party delegates and supporters.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are still emerging, but preliminary information indicates that the crash was caused by the driver losing control while negotiating the sharp bend.
