Residents of Ekumfi Adumadze in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region have been left in shock and grief following the mysterious death of a scrap dealer and wheelbarrow pusher popularly known in the area as “Wheelbarrow Pusher.”
The deceased, who was widely known around the bustling Mankessim Market for his scrap collection business and wheelbarrow transport services, was found dead in the early hours of the morning in front of the Musama Disco Christo Church.
According to eyewitnesses and residents who first arrived at the scene, blood was seen oozing from the deceased’s mouth and nose when the body was discovered, sparking fear and concern within the community.
Residents who gathered at the scene expressed sadness and disbelief over the incident, noting that the deceased had been seen alive and going about his usual activities the previous evening without showing any signs of illness or distress.
Some eyewitnesses indicated that there were no visible signs of violence or struggle around the scene where the body was found, making the exact circumstances surrounding the death unclear.
The incident quickly drew large crowds, with many residents rushing to the area to witness the scene while others called on the authorities to conduct a full-scale investigation to establish the cause of death.
The Assembly Member for the area together with some community leaders reportedly visited the scene shortly after receiving information about the incident and helped coordinate communication with the police.
Personnel from the Ghana Police Service later arrived to assess the situation and begin preliminary investigations into the mysterious death.
The body was subsequently conveyed to the mortuary at the Mankessim Roman Hospital for preservation and autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Police say investigations into the incident are ongoing and have appealed to members of the public with any relevant information that could assist with the investigation to come forward.
The unfortunate incident has left family members, friends, and residents of the community in mourning as they await the outcome of both the police investigation and the medical examination.
