Wassa Dikoto local chief commissions 6-Unit classroom block
In a significant boost to local education, Nana Kwaku Opoku, the newly enstooled Development Chief (Nkosuohene) of Wassa Dikoto, has handed over a newly constructed 6-unit classroom block to the community.
Nana Kwaku Opoku, who is the son of the Gyaasehene of Wassa Dikoto, Nana Akwasi, undertook the project shortly after his enstoolment to address the urgent educational needs of the area.
Speaking to the media during the commissioning, Nana Opoku expressed concern over the perceived neglect of the community’s infrastructure by the central government.
He noted that while the community faces several developmental hurdles, he has prioritized education and healthcare as his immediate goals.
”The community has two major infrastructural challenges. I have completed the first phase with this classroom block, and I am now looking forward to beginning work on a new health center,” Nana Opoku stated.
The Nkosuohene emphasized that while he is committed to the town’s growth, sustainable development requires a partnership with the state.
He appealed to the government to turn its attention toward Dikoto, offering his full cooperation to local authorities.
”I am ready to support the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) whenever the assembly is ready to bring further development to this community,” he added.
Beyond infrastructure, Nana Opoku called for unity and guidance from his fellow leaders.
He urged the traditional authorities of Wassa Dikoto to support his vision with their wealth of experience and ideas, ensuring that all projects align with the long-term interests of the people.
