A violent clash over a parcel of land in the Asokore Mampong Municipality has left one person dead and two others fighting for their lives.
The incident occurred Wednesday morning in the Nyalewa community, triggered by a long-standing feud between two parties claiming ownership of the same property.
According to eyewitness reports, the violence erupted when a party that had recently purchased the land was confronted by a man claiming to be the rightful owner.
The confrontation quickly escalated, resulting in a shooting.
One person was confirmed dead at the scene while two individuals sustained gunshot wounds and are currently in critical condition.
The victims were rushed to the Manhyia Government Hospital for urgent treatment.
Officers from the Ashanti Regional Police Command arrived swiftly to restore order and prevent further bloodshed.
”The suspect has been taken into custody and is currently assisting with ongoing investigations,” a police source confirmed.
While the area remains calm, police presence has been bolstered to ensure security as investigators work to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the attack.
