The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the programme and voter identification requirements for its upcoming National Delegates Conference and elections scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026.
In a notice issued by the party’s National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, the party said the conference would proceed in two main stages, beginning with consideration of proposed constitutional amendments before the election of national officers.
According to the notice, the constitutional amendment process will commence at exactly 9:00 a.m., while voting in the national officers’ elections is expected to begin at 12:00 p.m.
The party has urged all constituency, regional and national officers, as well as delegates, to take note of the programme and make the necessary arrangements to ensure an orderly process.
The NOEC said punctuality and cooperation from participants would be important to the smooth consideration of the constitutional amendments and the subsequent elections.
The NPP said voting will take place across 31 polling stations, with delegates expected to elect national officers to nine positions.
The positions are:
1. National Chairman
2. Vice Chairman
3. General Secretary
4. National Organiser
5. National Women’s Organiser
6. National Youth Organiser
7. National Nasara Organiser
8. National Treasurer
9. National Communications Director
The Electoral Commission (EC) will conduct the elections and undertake voter verification before delegates are allowed to cast their ballots.
The party has outlined specific identification requirements for delegates participating in the voting process.
According to the NOEC, every delegate seeking to vote must have their name on the official delegates’ register and must present one valid identification document.
The accepted identification documents are:
– Ghana Card;
– Voter ID card; or
– NPP party card.
The party has therefore advised delegates to ensure they travel with at least one of the approved identification documents to facilitate the verification process.
Delegates have also been encouraged to arrive early and allow sufficient time for verification before voting begins at noon.
The NOEC has further directed all constituency, regional and national officers to bring the notice to the attention of delegates under their respective jurisdictions.
The directive forms part of preparations aimed at ensuring that delegates are adequately informed about the arrangements for the conference and election.
The October 3 exercise is expected to determine the party’s next crop of national officers, who will assume key organisational responsibilities within the NPP.
