The Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, is championing efforts to construct an alternative road linking Adusuazo to Half Assini, the municipal capital of the Jomoro Municipality.

The proposed road project is aimed at improving accessibility, reducing travel time, boosting economic activities and enhancing the living conditions of residents in Adusuazo and surrounding communities.

Although the distance between Adusuazo and Half Assini is approximately 12.4 kilometres, a journey that could take about 33 minutes via Cambodia Street, residents reportedly spend several hours travelling to the municipal capital because of the existing road network and the route they currently use.

The proposed alternative route is expected to provide a shorter and more convenient connection between the two communities, bringing relief to residents, traders, farmers and other commuters who regularly travel to Half Assini to access essential services and conduct business.

One of the key anticipated benefits of the project is improved access to healthcare. Residents of Adusuazo and neighbouring communities could enjoy faster access to health facilities in Half Assini, particularly during medical emergencies when delays in transportation can have serious consequences.

The road is also expected to ease the difficulties associated with travelling to the municipal capital, allowing commuters to save time and reduce transportation-related inconveniences.

Beyond improving mobility, the proposed project is expected to stimulate commercial activities within the municipality. Farmers, traders and small-scale business owners could benefit from easier transportation of agricultural produce and other goods to markets in Half Assini and neighbouring communities.

Improved road connectivity could also reduce the challenges involved in transporting farm produce, expand access to markets and create opportunities for residents to grow their businesses and improve their livelihoods.

The project is further expected to contribute to the broader development of Jomoro by opening up communities, facilitating the movement of people and goods, and strengthening connectivity between Adusuazo and the municipal capital.

The initiative underscores the importance of accessible road infrastructure in promoting rural development, improving healthcare delivery, supporting local businesses and ensuring that communities are better connected to essential services and economic opportunities.

For residents of Adusuazo and surrounding communities, the proposed alternative road represents more than an additional transport route. It offers the prospect of shorter journeys, improved access to healthcare, greater commercial opportunities and stronger links with the municipal capital.

Residents will therefore be looking forward to the realisation of the project, which could become a significant infrastructure milestone for the Jomoro Municipality.

The initiative also highlights the advocacy of their Member of Parliament, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, towards improving road connectivity and promoting development across the constituency.
