In a landmark moment for Ghana’s economic diplomacy, Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK and Ireland Her excellency Mrs. Sabah Zita Benson has officially commissioned the Ghana Export Trade House on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Ghana High Commission UK’s Highgate Office.
The initiative, described as a significant step in strengthening Ghana’s commercial visibility and strategic partnerships in the United Kingdom, is set to revolutionize the nation’s export landscape.
Addressing a distinguished audience that included the Deputy High Commissioner, the CEO of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), representatives of the diaspora community, and staff of the Mission, Mrs. Benson emphasized the broader vision behind the Export Trade House.
She noted “Today marks more than the opening of a physical space; it represents our collective ambition to deepen trade relations, support Ghanaian exporters, and create new pathways for investment and innovation.”
The Export Trade House according to the Ghana’s High Commissioner is designed to serve as a dynamic hub for showcasing Ghanaian products in the UK market, adding that It is part of a broader strategy to expand opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), promote value-added exports, and foster collaboration between Ghanaian and British businesses.
She also called on the private sector to seize the opportunity and partner with the government to expand this initiative to other parts of the world.
“Calling on the private sector to take advantage to collaborate with the government to invest and establish a bigger export trade house and replicate same in other parts of the world. May it become a vibrant engine of growth, a bridge between our two nations, and a beacon of opportunities for generations to come.”
The establishment of the Export Trade House, also known as “Trade House” is not just a symbolic act,it has far-reaching implications for the Ghanaian economy, offering a host of benefits that could transform the nation’s export and investment landscape.
