Residents of Tikobo No. 1 in the Jomoro Municipality have received a boost in educational development following the successful lobbying for a new school project by the Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Dorcas Affo-Toffey.
The project, funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), involves the construction of a six-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities for the Tikobo No. 1 M/A Basic School A.
The initiative is expected to ease congestion in classrooms and improve the overall teaching and learning environment for both pupils and teachers.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Jomoro, Benedict Boadi, on behalf of the MP who also serves as Deputy Minister for Transport welcomed the project consultant and contractor to the municipality.

The team visited the proposed site at Tikobo No. 1 to assess conditions ahead of the start of construction.
As part of the inspection tour, the team also visited Half-Assini, the municipal capital, where they assessed the newly completed Nana Ayebie Amuchia Basic School.
The facility, another GETFund-supported project facilitated by the MP, has now been officially handed over to the Municipal Assembly after a final evaluation by the consultant.
In addition, plans are underway to resume and complete work on the Nasurudeen Basic School at Elubo.

According to the consultant, arrangements have been finalized, and the contractor is expected to move to site in the coming days.
The Municipal Chief Executive commended the MP’s sustained efforts in improving educational infrastructure across the Jomoro Municipality, describing the projects as critical interventions that will enhance access to quality basic education in the area.
The series of developments underscores ongoing efforts to address infrastructure gaps in schools while creating a more conducive learning environment for children in the municipality.
