The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District, Olivia Bentil has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to expanding educational infrastructure across the district to enhance teaching and learning.
According to the DCE, education remains one of the most important pillars of national development, and her administration is determined to provide schools with the infrastructure needed to create a conducive environment for quality education.
Mrs. Bentil made the remarks in an interview with Onua News during the commissioning of a newly completed three-unit classroom block for Kindergarten (KG) pupils at Breman Amoada in the Central Region.
She disclosed that the newly commissioned facility forms part of a broader agenda to improve educational infrastructure in the district, adding that several other school projects are currently under construction and will be completed to benefit more communities.
“We are committed to ensuring that every child has access to a safe and conducive learning environment. More educational infrastructure projects are underway, and education will remain one of our top priorities because it is the key to success,” she stated.
The DCE assured residents that the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District would witness significant development under the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration led by President John Dramani Mahama.
She noted that beyond education, the Assembly is working to implement a number of development projects aimed at improving the living conditions of residents and accelerating socio-economic growth across the district.
Mrs. Bentil also commended President John Dramani Mahama for directing all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to undertake a nationwide clean-up exercise following the recent floods that affected several parts of the country.
She described the initiative as timely and necessary, saying it would help restore cleanliness in communities, improve public health, and reduce the risk of disease outbreaks after the floods.
The commissioning of the three-unit KG classroom block at Breman Amoada is expected to ease congestion, provide a safer learning environment for young pupils, and strengthen early childhood education in the community.
