The Hohoe Circuit Court has sentenced 23-year-old Felix Agbodzi to seven years in prison for the defilement of a 12-year-old girl.
The conviction, announced by the Volta North Regional Police Command on Friday, April 24, 2026, follows a rapid legal process that saw the perpetrator brought to book less than two weeks after his initial arrest.
According to police reports, the incident occurred in Gbi-Akplamafu, where Agbodzi lured the young victim to his residence.
Preliminary investigations confirmed that the suspect subjected the 12-year-old to sexual abuse within his home.

In a statement signed by Inspector Felix Kwao of the Public Affairs Unit, the Volta North Regional Police Command reiterated its commitment to protecting vulnerable members of society.
”The Police Command urges members of the public not to hesitate in reporting defilement and related criminal offenses,” the statement read.
“We warn persons engaged in such acts that they will face the full rigors of the law.”
The Police have encouraged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or crimes against children to the Regional Headquarters.
