Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has reaffirmed her commitment to addressing youth unemployment in the constituency, saying greater investment in young people is central to her development agenda.
The MP said she is determined to create more sustainable employment opportunities and improve access to decent jobs for young people across communities in Amenfi Central.
According to her, the development of the constituency would remain constrained if a significant number of its young population continued to struggle to find meaningful work.
She said her office is therefore pursuing practical measures aimed at equipping young people with employable skills, supporting entrepreneurship and helping them access employment opportunities within and beyond the constituency.
“Investing in the youth of Amenfi Central is my priority. We must end the jobless system in our communities and expand jobs for everyone. When our youth have work, our communities will have peace and progress,” she said.
Mrs Gyan Cudjoe explained that the employment agenda would cover a range of areas, including agriculture, mining, small-scale businesses, vocational training and education.
She said the approach is intended to provide opportunities for young people with different skills, interests and educational backgrounds while contributing to broader economic activity in the constituency.
The MP further stressed the need for initiatives that would enable young people to become economically independent and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.
Some residents have expressed optimism about the proposed measures, saying effective implementation could help reduce unemployment and create new avenues for economic growth in Amenfi Central.
The MP’s commitment forms part of her broader focus on youth empowerment and development within the constituency.
