The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged murder of a 34-year-old mobile money vendor, identified as Christian Amponsah, at a guest house around Kasoa Second in the Central Region.

The suspects are Felicia Osei Appiah, 59; Clement Opoku Yeboah, 24; and a female juvenile whose identity has not been disclosed.

According to a statement issued by the Ghana Police Service on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, the three were arrested on Tuesday, October 27, as part of investigations into the death of the mobile money vendor.

The police said the arrest followed a complaint lodged by the manager of the guest house where the incident occurred.

According to the manager’s account to the police, the deceased and the female juvenile had visited the facility and booked a room for two hours.

However, after the agreed period had elapsed, the two had not come out of the room, prompting the manager to follow up and check on them.

Upon entering the room, he reportedly discovered Christian Amponsah lying motionless in a pool of blood.

The manager subsequently reported the incident to the police, leading to investigations and the eventual arrest of the three suspects.

Following the report, police officers visited the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.

The police statement indicated that officers found the deceased lying face down in a pool of blood, with his body covered with bedsheets, curtains and pillows.

The body was subsequently conveyed to the Police Hospital Mortuary in Accra for preservation, identification and autopsy to support investigations into the circumstances of his death.

The autopsy is expected to form part of the investigative process to establish the cause of death.

The three suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting investigators with inquiries into the incident.

The Central East Regional Police Command said investigations were ongoing and that steps were being taken to put the suspects before a court.

However, the police have not provided further details about the alleged roles of the individual suspects or the circumstances that led to the victim’s death.

The arrests do not, in themselves, establish the guilt of the suspects, as the case remains under investigation.

The Command has assured the public that it is conducting thorough investigations into the incident, while expressing appreciation to stakeholders whose timely information assisted in apprehending the suspects.

The police are expected to provide further updates as investigations progress and additional details become available.

The incident adds to the concerns surrounding violent deaths and the need for prompt reporting and thorough investigations to establish the facts and ensure that suspected perpetrators are brought before the law.
