The incoming Eastern Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prince Henry, has urged newly elected constituency executives in the Eastern Region to prioritise peace, unity and collaboration as the party works to increase its parliamentary representation in the 2028 general elections.
Mr Henry emphasised that a united front would be essential to strengthening the party’s grassroots structures, consolidating its support base and improving its electoral prospects across the region.
He made the call following the election of constituency executives who are expected to steer the party’s affairs at the constituency level for the next four years.
According to him, the newly elected executives have a crucial responsibility to bring party members together, promote cooperation and ensure that their activities are aligned with the NDC’s broader political objectives in the Eastern Region.
He cautioned that internal disagreements and divisions could weaken the party’s electoral prospects, stressing that members must put aside personal differences and work towards a common goal.
Mr Henry noted that securing additional parliamentary seats in the region would require not only effective grassroots mobilisation but also strategic communication and sustained engagement among constituency executives, branch members and other party stakeholders.
He therefore urged the executives to avoid unnecessary internal conflicts and focus on building a cohesive party capable of competing effectively in constituencies where the NDC seeks to improve its performance.
The incoming Regional Communications Officer further underscored the importance of maintaining peace and unity as the party begins preparations for the 2028 general elections.
He said a collaborative approach would enable the NDC to strengthen its organisational structures, improve communication with voters and mobilise support more effectively across the region.
Mr Henry also encouraged the newly elected executives to demonstrate commitment, discipline and responsible leadership throughout their four-year tenure, adding that their performance would be crucial to the party’s efforts to achieve its electoral ambitions.
He called on party members and supporters to rally behind the new constituency executives and contribute to building a peaceful, united and formidable NDC in the Eastern Region.
The Eastern Region remains an important area of political competition, with the NDC expected to rely on effective grassroots organisation, voter engagement and strategic planning to expand its parliamentary representation in the 2028 elections.
Mr Henry’s appeal comes as the newly elected constituency executives prepare to assume their responsibilities, with unity and organisational effectiveness expected to be central to the party’s efforts to strengthen its position ahead of the polls.
