Newly elected National Second Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, has pledged to work with the party’s leadership to secure victory for the NPP in the 2028 general elections.
Mr Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, expressed gratitude to delegates for entrusting him with the position during the party’s National Delegates Conference held in Kumasi.
In a message issued after the conference, he also thanked the Almighty God for what he described as His mercies and guidance throughout the electoral process.
“I join the rank and file of our great party to express our heartfelt appreciation to the Almighty God for his mercies during our just ended National Delegates Conference in Kumasi,” he said.
Nana B said he is “exceedingly grateful” to the delegates for electing him as National Second Vice Chairman, describing the elevation as an honour and a renewed call to serve the party.
The new executive has served the NPP in key organisational positions, including National Youth Organiser and National Organiser, over the past eight years.
Reflecting on his political journey within the party, he said his latest position represents a promotion that comes with significant responsibility.
“After serving our party as National Youth Organizer and National Organizer over the last eight years, I take promotion with great honor,” he stated.
He subsequently pledged to work closely with the newly elected national leadership to strengthen the party and achieve its ultimate political objective ahead of the 2028 elections.
According to Nana B, his immediate political priority is to contribute to efforts aimed at securing the election of former Vice President and NPP presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as President of Ghana in 2028.
“I pledge to join forces with our able leadership in ensuring that, by the grace of God, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is elected President of the Republic of Ghana in the 2028 General Elections,” he said.
Nana B said the new leadership has a clear task ahead of it and must work collectively to build a strong and united political organisation capable of competing effectively in the next general election.
“Our job is clearly cut out for us,” he said, adding that the party would work to “present a formidable front” in its quest to regain political power from the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He described the current NDC administration as “repressive” and called for a concerted effort by party members to work towards returning the NPP to government.
The former National Organiser also congratulated the other newly elected national officers and urged them to work together in the interest of the party.
“I congratulate us all for a very successful process. To fellow elected officers, congratulations. Let’s work together to deliver power for the NPP,” he said.
Nana B’s election forms part of the changes to the NPP’s national leadership following the party’s National Delegates Conference in Kumasi.
The conference brought together delegates from across the country to elect national officers and consider key issues concerning the future direction of the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
With the elections now concluded, Nana B’s message places emphasis on unity, collective responsibility and organisational mobilisation as the NPP begins preparations for the next presidential and parliamentary elections.

He prayed for God’s blessings on the NPP and Ghana, while reaffirming his identity as a “bold, fearless and experienced” party official.
“May God bless our Homeland Ghana. May God bless the New Patriotic Party,” he said.
