Media personality Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart, has made a dramatic pledge to the people of Gomoa West, declaring that the gods of Gomoa should strike him dead if he fails to fulfill the promises he has made toward the constituency’s development.
Captain Smart made the declaration during a visit to the traditional leaders of the Adonten Division of the Gomoa Assin Traditional Area in the Gomoa West Constituency of the Central Region, where he reaffirmed his commitment to improving the lives of residents.
Addressing the chiefs and community members, he said he would never renege on any promise he has made to the people of Gomoa West.
According to him, his public declaration was intended to demonstrate the seriousness of his commitment and assure residents that he is prepared to be held accountable for every pledge.
He stressed that the era of politicians seeking votes first before delivering development should become a thing of the past.
Instead, he argued, anyone aspiring to represent the people as a Member of Parliament must first demonstrate genuine commitment through tangible development initiatives before expecting electoral support.
Captain Smart noted that he has already initiated several development projects across the constituency, including the sod-cutting for the construction of health centres, school buildings, community centres and other social infrastructure aimed at improving living conditions in Gomoa West.
He called on residents to closely monitor his activities, hold him accountable for his promises and offer the necessary support to ensure the successful completion of the projects.
According to him, his primary objective is to promote sustainable development across the constituency and improve access to essential social services for communities.
Captain Smart also assured the traditional authorities that he remains focused on transforming Gomoa West and will continue working with stakeholders to address the development needs of the area.
The Adontenhene of the Gomoa Assin Traditional Area, Nana Obentim Kumah IX, commended Captain Smart for paying a courtesy call on the traditional council and for his commitment to the constituency’s development.
The chief encouraged him to remain steadfast and focused on his vision, expressing hope that his initiatives would bring lasting benefits to the people of Gomoa West.
Captain Smart reiterated that he is prepared to be judged by his actions and remains ready to be held accountable by the people he seeks to serve.
