The Ghana Police Service has intensified efforts to track down a suspect linked to the disappearance of a 27-year-old man at Oyibi in the Greater Accra Region.
According to a press release issued by the Accra Regional Public Affairs Unit on April 14, 2026, police are searching for one Wisdom Tetteh in connection with the case involving Theophilus Ashitey Amarh, who has been missing for over a week.
Police say the incident was first reported on April 7, 2026, after the victim reportedly left home a day earlier to sell his Hyundai Elantra.
He had been introduced to a prospective buyer by the suspect but never returned home.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the missing man was last seen at the suspect’s residence at Saasabi, where he had gone to meet the said buyer.
Further developments in the case have raised suspicions of possible foul play.
A police team that revisited the suspect’s residence on April 10 reportedly discovered what are believed to be bloodstains in the room.
The scene has since been processed by the National Crime Scene Management Team, with support from the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters.
Authorities have also conducted search operations in the area, involving community members and local leaders, but the victim is yet to be found.
Police intelligence suggests that the suspect may have fled Ghana to neighbouring Togo.
In response, the Police have initiated processes with INTERPOL to facilitate his arrest and possible extradition.
The Accra Regional Police Command has assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to apprehend the suspect and determine the full circumstances surrounding the disappearance.
Members of the public with any information on the whereabouts of either the suspect or the missing person are urged to report to the nearest police station to assist with ongoing investigations.
