The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ningo Prampram, Hon. Raphael Uriel Nartey, has offered high praise for the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, describing his performance as “fantastic.”
In an interview with 1960news.com, the DCE asserted that Sam George who is the minister of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations has represented the constituency with distinction over the past decade.
According to Hon. Nartey, the MP’s track record is so formidable that he should ideally go uncontested in future elections.
The DCE emphasized that no potential candidate could match Sam George’s dedication to spearheading development in the district.
”My Member of Parliament is a fantastic MP. We all know he is representing the people of Ningo Prampram very well, and there is no need for anyone to seek to replace him,” Hon. Nartey stated.
“Nobody can match his class. We are strongly behind him, praying that God gives him the strength to continue his good work for the constituency.”
The DCE further explained that the MP has been the driving force behind many of the assembly’s current developmental projects.
He specifically highlighted Sam George’s ability to lobby for road infrastructure under the “Big Push” flagship program, which has seen contractors mobilized to fix major routes, includingDawhenya through Afienya to Dodowa, Tema Roundabout to Central University, Ashaiman through Afienya to Akosombo
Afienya to Apollonia, along with several inner-city roads.
Beyond roads, the DCE credited the MP’s collaboration with the assembly for the completion of several schools, Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds, and public sanitation facilities, all of which are reportedly ready for commissioning.
Addressing recent viral videos in which some residents accused the MP of neglecting basic social amenities, the DCE dismissed the claims as “politically motivated.”
”Anything you do without opposition is naive,” he maintained. “Because of selfish gains and the desire for power, some individuals will try to pollute the minds of the people.
However, the good people of Ningo Prampram can see the progress for themselves.”
Regarding the acute water shortage in the area, the DCE conceded that the district is currently facing a significant water rationing exercise by the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL).
He explained that GWCL is rationing the water supply in parts of Ningo as a temporary measure due to low supply capacity and systemic inefficiencies.
He attributed the shortage to the shutdown of the Teshie-Nungua Desalination Plant and general supply constraints within the GWCL network.
However, he offered a glimmer of hope, stating that the President has directed that outstanding debts be settled to re-operationalize the desalination plant.
Once active, water volumes to the district are expected to increase significantly.
“The Assembly and the Traditional Council are collaborating closely with the regional office of the Ghana Water Company,” the DCE added.
